I am joining thousands of Wisconsinites and voters across the country to say I’m an anti-genocide voter. This is our pledge:

I pledge that I cannot in good conscience vote for candidates who actively support a genocide. If candidates want our votes for President, they must do everything in their power to bring about a permanent and unconditional ceasefire—no more bombs for Israel’s war! No matter who the candidates are, a permanent, unconditional ceasefire must be achieved or commitment made to enacting an immediate arms embargo before I can be asked about my vote. A ceasefire is essential and is only a first step to ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza—and that will only happen if the U.S. embargoes arms to Israel.

Therefore, I call on Vice President Harris to take all steps within her power and influence to enact an unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza now. This requires halting and conditioning all U.S. military and weapons aid for Israel. Without a commitment to enacting an arms embargo on Israel if elected or a stop to the ongoing genocide now, my vote is not guaranteed.

I am joining thousands of Wisconsinites to send a message to our elected leaders that we still stand firmly for justice: If candidates want our votes, they must do everything possible to bring about an unconditional and permanent ceasefire. Pledging “Ceasefire first, votes next” means I am an anti-genocide voter; this is a voting issue for me. I will not vote for candidates who actively support genocide, no matter who they are running against or what their stated values are.

As anti-war voters of conscience, we draw the line at genocide. Our elected leaders should advocate for policies that promote justice, peace, safety, and dignity for all of our communities, in the U.S. and abroad. But rather than listen to the majority of Wisconsinites and U.S. voters—who support a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to unfettered U.S. funding for Israeli oppression, war crimes, and apartheid in Palestine—the Biden-Harris Administration has continued to send both money and weapons to the Israeli military and government to carry out genocide of Palestinians. We want to be able to vote against right-wing fascism in November both here and abroad, and we cannot vote for genocide. We’re raising our voices, it’s time for our leaders to listen—or lose our votes.Almost 50,000 Wisconsinites voted “uninstructed” to stop the genocide in Gaza in April.

When we see U.S. weapons continuing to flow to Israeli warfare, our hope for leadership and an agenda of peace is waning. The violence and man-made humanitarian catastrophe stops when the weapons stop. As a leader in the Biden Administration and the Democratic Party, Vice President Kamala Harris has the opportunity to help bring about a ceasefire in Gaza. We will not be able to support her without a permanent, unconditional ceasefire before being asked about our votes. After witnessing a year of crimes against humanity, with U.S. weapons, calling for a ceasefire without stopping the flow of weapons to Israel is hollow. An unconditional ceasefire or an arms embargo must be the agenda of a candidate that can earn our votes.This is some text inside of a div block.
